Not sure what the diffs are but since you have a synchro trans, kinda makes it easy as to which you should use. Also, just go to GM and get the right stuff for your ZF. Tricks to put it in? One is, make sure you get the fill plug out first.

Default ZF Lube

I just did mine last week when I had it up for rear end work. I figgured as long as I'm lookin' at it and it's up here anyway, I might as well do it too. I read here that the only lube that ZF recomends is Castrol TWS 10w-60. I got my 2 at the BMW dealer in handy 1 liter plastic jugs for around $7.50 or so. the "60" sounds a little thick, but the viscosity is supposed to settle out to about 35 to 40 after about 300 miles. I haven't gone that far yet with mine, but it shifts like butter now, nice and smooth!
No kidding, the hardest part is getting those damn 17mm fill and drain plugs out. They must have put them in with a big air gun! Do the fill hole first, because if you get the drain out first and can't get the fill plug out you'll have to turn the car upside down to refill it. I twisted a cheap 17mm allen wrench into a licorice stick trying to get it out ! I finally found a grade 8 nut the right size and tapped it into the fill plug and turned it with a giant wrench then screwed in a bolt to get the nut back out of the plug once I was finished. Autozone carys a handy little plastic pump that fits into a regular oil bottle and with a piece of the supplied plastic hose, it makes pumping in the fluid a breeze for tranys and differentials too.

go to an autoparts store and buy a suction gun.
It is a variant on a grease gun with a long clear plastic tube on the discharge end to fit into the fill hole. YOu can use it to suck out the old gear oil, clean it and then use it to fill the diff with fresh fluid
