Antenna wire location question
I am having a new Alpine headunit & subwoofer amp, Pioneer 4 ways and Infinity subwoofer installed in my '91 coupe. The only problem is we cant find where the antenna coax connects into the harness for the old Bose Gold system. Any help would be much appreciated.

In my '95, the radio receiver is actually in the rear under the RH storage compartment. (or was until I moved it to put the battery there) That's where you'll find the coax plugged in at.
On a 91 the antenna plugs into the CDM also called the Receiver box (Silver colored metal box) located on the passenger side under the dash. It sits in a black plastic tray. The antenna plugs into the side of it. Most people unplug the cable at the CDM and use an extension cable.
The box is very hard to remove because of the wiring harness and because it's jammed up into the dash.
Here's a link which will give you an idea what needs to be done.

You can see the metal reciever box if you remove the AC vents on the passenger side and you can get a long screwdriver through there to pull out the coax cable for the antenna. You will need a GM adaptor cable ( about 1 fooy long) to plug it into and to extend it to where it can plug into your new unit.
To avoid the sys light flashing you snould also unplug the wireing harness from the reciever box and use these wires to connect the new unit by extending them including the antenna power feed.

The advice was PERFECT!!! Thanks guys that was exactly what we needed. Something I really like too is the Alpine head unit does not raise the antenna mast when you are listening to a CD the way the Bose Gold system did. I can plug my iPod into this and it freaking sounds awesome. At half volume I can feel bones vibrating and at 3/4 my vision literally starts to blur on the heavy bass notes (No, I dont plan on doing that much). The Alpine head unit is 100 watts per channel and the Alpine subwoofer amp is single channel and rated at 700 watts peak.
