Is there a kit to upgrade my 12 inch rotors to the 95 13 inch rotors without changing the calipers .If so who sells it .
The 13" rotor is thicker as well as greater diameter so the caliper is different. You would need the C4 caliper bracket (bolts to the spindle) as well as caliper, plus fresh bolts and washers.
The pads are the same size so if the pads you have are nearly new they 'could' be reused.
You can buy all the parts from a Chevy dealer ... . Or just call. Expect to spend 600 or more with pads.
This is a straight bolt-on mod. You would need:
13" rotors
J55 calipers (the throat is wider than the stock 12" calipers because the 13" rotors are thicker than the 12" rotors)
J55 brackets.
The brake pads are the same, you can reuse those. If they are significantly worn, why not just replace them while you have everything apart? The hoses are the same, but you should use new crush washers.
I did this mod to my 94 two years ago and it greatly improved the braking.
I rebuilt the calipers because I bought used ones from another forum member.
The whole upgrade with used parts was inexpensive compared to some of the other ways you can go.
Let me know if you have any questions. You do have some bolts to torque and Locktite should be used on the bracket bolts.
Thanks for all your help . One more thing is there a special way of bleeding the brakes ? I know some ABS equiped cars have a long procedure to bleed. Is it worth it to do this mod i already have cross drilled rotors with ceramic pads on the car now .

Two things on the ABS bleed. As long as you don't get air in the ABS module you can just bleed each wheel to flush it entirely from the master out. If you do get air in the ABS module a ZR1 owner told me a workaround he was given by a dealer. After flushing the system take the car out to a gravel road or parking lot, run the car up to speed and hit the brakes hard to activate the ABS. After doing this enough to force the ABS to go nuts for a while take the car back home and bleed at each wheel again.
This is a workaround for using the Tech2 to bleed the ABS. Doing this will displace the air from the ABS module into the lines, so you then bleed the lines again at the wheels.
I noticed less dust and a very burnt up set of rotors shortly after my C-5 swap with the GM Dura Stop ceramic pads. The less brake dust is nice for car shows but ceramic pads are not for serious/hard use.
BTW the C-5 front upgrade is another option that is easy to do, easy to find parts and fairly cheap.
