If you put in a pretty lumpy flat nose (non-roller) stick with stiff springs you chance loosing a lobe. It may be a PITA to remove the inner spring (or install weaker springs) just for the break-in, but it will be a bigger PITA to replace the cam after a lobe goes flat 
If you go mild on the cam & springs, use a good "C" rated (diesel type) oil; you should be OK.
