Default Removing the hood

My front end has some damage and I wanted to drop it off by the body shop and im dragging tomorrow so i wanted to take off the extra weight. I also figured that it would make my car run better. Can anyone tell me how to get it off without being crushed or damaging the hood. Pics and step by step instructions would be GREATLY appreciated. Please no flames and thanks in advance

I don't have any pics because I'm not at home, but it's quite easy. There are only four bolts up front and a wiring harness for the underhood light. Spray paint the bolts before removing them so you can see where to line them up upon reassembly.

Unscrew them and have someone help you lift the hood off. It's easy.

When it's open, it should balance on the steel brackets that bolt to the frame. Have someone hold it in place until you pull the bolts out. Then lift it together and put it somewhere else.

THere are a few wires you'll have to unplg for the headlight motors, and the underhood lights, and that should be it.

BTW, mine is an LT1 car, it could be slightly different.
