Default C5 Brake upgrade help

I am in the middle of installing the C5 brake upgrade and lave a couple of questions.

1. The brake calipers do not have a LH/RH designation on them. Am I missing it or are they the same.

2. I am using the Hawk pads. Two of the pads have metal clips on them. Are these the outer or inner pads? Is the metal clip at the top or bottom?

Thanks in advance.

It shouldn't matter which caliper you use on which side as long as its bolted to the adapter bracket correctly.

Although I'm not certain, I believe the clips are the wear indicators -- when they hit the rotor, pads are gone. At least that's the only thing I could see them being there for.

So, I used them on the outboard side with the clip on the bottom. One word of warning on the upgrade. Make sure the anti-rattle clips fit properly. The set I got were too wide and scraped against the rotor -- didn't hurt anything but made an awful sound until I figured out what it was. Simple trim with a dremel and the problem was solved.

You'll love the upgrade. Significant improvement over the C4 brakes. Look good too....

I knew there was a catch. I installed with the bleed port up and now that I looked at the clip, it does seem to be the wear indicator.

Definitely, always! Generally the indicators go inside so they can be seen from under the car. I think they usually go on the leading edge of the pad too, at least on the pads I've seen that were marked L and R.
