I have an 86 stock. I'm just new in this forum, and have been lurking since April. I guess the only "stupid" question is one that isn't asked. One can spend thousands on upgraded motors, headers,blah blah blah, but I was just curious first of all to compare "stock" from the factory vs. re-programmed chips without the "added" specials.
I guess I'm looking for a "baseline" to start with before the "goodies" are added on.

Ohh you are talking about performance settings vs stock settings..
There is a difference in timing, fan speeds, fuelmaps, etc..
I thought u were asking for the top speed limiter , which is way higher than you or I will ever hit.
On your '86 you have a MAF setup that is very forgiving to minor mods without tuning. Add an AFPR and you can fine tune the fuel to any mods you have. Once you add more than just basic bolt-ons look for a custom chip. I love tuning my vettes.
Picked up quite a few ponies with a good tune.
