The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I have a '93 LT1 Auto with (I think) stock Dana 36 rear-end (2.59? gears.) Mostly driving in the overdrive auto mode I get 17.6 MPG driving it every day. The tires were on the Vette when I bought it in January of this year, so I don't know the total miles on this set. I've put 5K miles on them without noticeable tread wear. But I didn't buy the C4 to race. I bought the C4 to make my daily commute over open highway more enjoyable.
I have Nitto 555's front and rear:
Front: 255/45 ZR17 92W
Rear: 285/40 ZR17 95W
Official Ratings:
Tread Wear: 300
Traction: A
Temperature: A
This is my daily driver car and I have nothing but praise for these tires! They stick to the road like no other tires I've ever owned. The cornering I get out of them is nothing short of amazing.
I've driven them in the rain and never had a problem. When these need replacing, I'm getting another set of 555's.
Their website is http://www.nittotire.com. I'd like to get the same rubber compound for my motorcycle tires, too.
Have a good Labor Day weekend all!
