You know something, you are the most unforgiving bastard I have ever met.

I eat crow, and you just have to shove more down my throat.

You seem to think every one of my posts is some how full of lies. That's crap and you know it.In short, you are calling me a bold face liar. One that is doing it intentionally to harm others. That is the most absurd thing I have have ever been accused of. Infact, it is on the edge of being slander.

You are utterly impossible to communicate with. Your lack of flexibilty is beyond comprehension.

The worst part? You enjoy being this way. I can picture someone sitting at their computer, with 50 different books, in a poorly lit room, spending all their waking hours just waiting for someone to make a misstep.

How tragic that existance must be.

I have never professed perfection. It's simply a discussion. Someone will come back and correct an error, but no, you have to swoop in and attack. The Internet equivilent of a buzzard attacking road kill.

It's not required. It's not necessary.

And every time I say this, it falls on your deaf ears. Cause you are so entrenched in your belief that you are the Forum's self imposed fact checker...

And the bottom line to all of this:

You are jealous of me. You are jealous that others actually listen to me. It eats you up. Deep inside you are so resentful, it ain't even funny.

And folks would be more inclined to listen to you if you weren't such a hard *** about it.

And don't ever accuse me of not taking responsiblity.

"Eat crow"??? You make the statement, "I found where I made my mistake... " and then spend the rest of the post explaining how it isn't your fault and how you are the victim of your own style of tactics. You "parroted", as you set up other do do, false information. Now, all of a sudden, it's not longer your fault. Blame it on your "fact checker". YOU are the victim of being fed false information, similar to what you are spreading. Are you starting to see how this works?

Before you trivialize your "mistake" in your "EDIT", you spend the better part of a page making excuses and justifying inaccuracies with:

The presences of a caveat. (Any excuse, whether included or not.)
This is a place for discussion. (Of fiction?)
Not a place for absolutes. (Save them for "Off Topic"?)
Can't remember everything 100% perfectly. (Fine. There is no penalty for not posting.)

I have never accused you of lying. A lie is when fantasy is knowingly substituted for fact. To accuse you of lying, one would have to believe you actually know better. I DON'T think you are lying. I don't think you know enough about some of your posts to know the truth from a lie. Unfortunately, THAT doesn't prevent you from posting it anyhow. What IS intentional, however, is the irresponsible posting of things "I can't remember everything 100% perfectly" as if you could.

I DON'T fancy myself as the "Forum's self imposed fact checker". I think that is a good job for you. Not only can you correct me and the others, maybe YOU'LL have a better idea what you are talking about before you post abd poison the pool.

Me jealous? Not hardly. I am not jealous of those that listen to you, I simply pray they will have the wisdom to separate your wheat from your chaff. The poison you keep spreading is what eats me up. This would be a lot easier if EVERYTHING you posted was bunk. But it isn't. Unfortunately, the uninitiated can't tell the fresh, new, oats from the oats that has already been through the horse.

I don't get it...

You constantly badger me. Every statement I make ends up looking like that mess from above. You pick it apart for every little misstep, twisting my words like pretzels. Are you an attorney? That would explain your ability to argue... or is it simple beligerance?

Is this what you want to see:

I WAS WRONG.

Are you happy now?

No, wait, nothing seems to make you happy.

I made a ****ing mistake, something we all do on occasion... and from what I have concluded, you seem to think I do it all the time. Which means that every post I make suspect and full of "fiction." Then again, you jump on the tiniest of errors and flubs... maybe, to your standard, they are... I am sure something will be wrong with this post...

If you are not jealous of me, you sure are spending a lot of energy fixing my mistakes... wait, that's it, you are not the self imposed forum fact checker, you are MY PERSONAL FACT CHECKER.

Ooh, I am so flattered.

As I see it, you are STILL trying to shove that crow down my throat. What do you want? Total humilation? You will never get that from me. I won't let you get that level of satisfaction.

Now, crawl back under your rock and leave me and the rest of the forum alone.

I don't twist words. Are you frustrated that I actually READ what you write? Or are you frustrated that you can't think straight?

That helps. Now if you will make it so it is never necessary, again, I'll be happy.

We all DO make mistakes. Too often lately, you have been posting a lot of garbage. Qualifying a misstatement with a "caveat" may technically absolve you, but if the caveat is necessary, why take the chance in posting a falsehood. Save the post until you KNOW the caveat isn't needed and what you are talking about. "Which means that every post I make suspect and full of "fiction."". As I said in my last post, life for all of us non-Bogus Information people would be simpler if ALL your posts were fiction. Then we could easily dismiss all your posts, out of hand. Rather than rewrite it all read, study and understand my previous post.

What is the cost to the follower of a tiny mistake? Are the tiny mistakes less costly to follow? Do they cause less damage to the car?

Call me a fact checker if that is the way you see it. I post advice to help a reader fix a problem. I correct erroneous posts for the same reason. Possibly it doesn't occur to you that NO information is better than WRONG information. With no information, the seeker can continue to look. With wrong information he can end up spending a lot of time, money, and doing a lot of damage, if he blindly relies on it.

This forum would be much better off if you engaged the brain before you popped the mouth. Your misinformation doesn't harm me, but it does do a disservice to you, yourself, and a forum near and dear to many of us.

THIMK!!!

do you know what I find utterly facinating about this exchange?

You are the only person who has this complaint.

No argument with that last point.

Here is a PM I received a while back, from a friend of yours.

I have never received any PMs of that nature.

I would like to think that people know me well enough to approach me directly if the quality of my posts were some how below par... but no one has.

The last thing I would do is yell at someone...

As for spending time under the car? I wish I had the time...

In all honesty, I have so much going on... restoring bastet44s 87... keeping my slowly dying 92 on the road, at least long enough to get hers back on the road so I can then do mine... external, non automotive time constraints... work... commuting...

I think it's time for a short vacation.

Hey guys, I don't mean to butt in this pizzing contest....but I will anyway...

Fact of the matter is, CFI-EFI and bogus are a couple of my favorite virtual CF friends...I hate to see 2 senior members going ballistic on one another over quality/accuracy of content. The unfortunate fact is, there are MANY CF posters who put out utter nonesense to important tech issues.

I think we all try as hard as we can to post accurate and meaningful advice to those who have less knowledge. I've certainly made mistakes in the past, and I am ALWAYS happy when someone corrects my mistakes. I also try not to take minor criticism to heart...As well as giving, I continue to absorb knowledge from this Forum. Another quality we must all develope in the world of virtual broadcasting, is to have the ability to seperate fact from fiction.

'Cmon guys, you are both cool.......

For the Xth time, we ALL make mistakes. What makes YOUR irresponsible posts so insidious and damaging, is that a large number of people THINK you know what you are talking about. You make many valuable and helpful contributions along with the gibberish. THAT is why it is so hard for many to separate the wheat from the chaff. Many people don't have the knowledge to tell the difference in your clean fresh fertilizer and your . You think I am jealous of you. Why would that be? Do I wish I knew everything you know? You bet! We all have different knowledge bases. You know lots I don't, and vice versa. Do I want to trade your knowledge for mine? No way!. You think I am jealous because people listen to you...Wrong, BUT! I recognize that a lot of people DO listen to you. And especially since YOU are aware that people listen, you should realize the extra responsibility, and burden that puts on you, to GET IT RIGHT. This forum is awash with rumors, falsehoods, folk lore and old wives's tales that continue to get passed along. Don't start new ones, or allow the old ones to perpetuate. Stand up to the plate and stop the buck, when you have the opportunity. Failing that, keep your mouth shut when you have no greater conviction of your info than, "there is something in the back of my head that tells me". Accept the responsibility for what it is you THINK I am jealous of, and act accordingly. I am not the only one listening. This wouldn't be a problem, if I were.

Now that arguement makes sense. It is one I can agree with 100%. You are correct, there are tons of urban legends floating around here... and when I make an error, I am willing to admit it. And I do correct it. Be it an error of omission, or an error of neglect.

Once again, more justification and excuses as to why it's OK to post junk. Not everyone is going to keep cruising back to see if your indiscretions have been cleaned up. Many, read, move on, and then parrot. They repeat what they don't know, just you did when you gave them the fodder. Think! Check! Have some idea of the validity of what you post, before you stick your foot into your much listened to mouth. Have you no sense of responsibility, no conscience? If you aren't a part of the solution, then you are part of the problem.

You weren't serious about the vacation? I thought you were and it seemed like a good idea. That "zinger" wasn't intended to zing. It was a well intentioned farewell to your much needed "break".

I give up.

I try and I try to agree with you point, but you won't listen to my point.

I am only human, and I don't need the stress of perfection when hanging out here. It's a release for me. I help, great, I make a mistake, I remedy it. for me, perfection is saved for work and personal projects. When I write or edit a C4 Guru tech tip, that's checked, doubled checked, and tripled checked. It is written only to match the data I have, not any more, not any less. If I know for a fact it covers certian model years, those are the ones I refer to. If it fits only one year, or one variation then that's what it covers. I don't make any assumptions there.

I make them here to help create discussion, and perhaps, to point someone in some direction. Assumptions are not correct, they are guesses, sometimes educated, sometimes not. If I can make a suggestion, I will, in hope it creates discussion. The idea is almost like brain storming. I suggest A, someone else takes A and says, A is a good start, but I have found that B is a good thing to check for. Then the reader can take it from there.

That is where we disagree. You feel that discussion must be absolute. It must not be discussion, but a dissertation. That's fine. We disagree on this point.

And from what I have figured, I have given more, quality free advice than most.

And it did come across as a zinger... whether it was meant that way or not.

It is worthless to argue on the internet. There is too much time to think of things to say. It's like arguing with a child, guess who wins or give up first. You both made points, long winded, but points. It really doesn't matter. It is nice to have info at you side when posting but is not always possible and you think off the top of your head when posting. Sometimes right and sometimes wrong. Everyone is wrong one way or another. Just my .02.

Good luck to the winner.

Iam through arguing, too. A statement and a question don't make an argument. I gave you too much credit. I thought you were smart enough to see what I was saying. I WAS WRONG. I gave you credit you didn't deserve. No caveats. No excuses. No qualifications, simply, I WAS WRONG! I had thought you were worth the time.

Is that a "bogusism"? You agree with my point but I won't listen to you making MY point? In other words, I don't agree with myself? I can already hear the accusation of me twisting your words. Once again, excuse me for paying attention.

I missed the invitation for discussion in THIS fantasy post.

Is that an invitation for discussion by the minds you're previously poisoned, to speculate over how long something that never existed, lasted??? I guess is all boils down to a discussion of what your definition of "IS" is. Discuss this
