I'm actually planning on junking my Crossfire injection on my 84 aswell!

I've been speaking with the good people at Rocky Mountain Corvette about how easy the conversion can be. My question to you, speeddemon651, is this....

How easy was the conversion? was there any problems with the fuel pump? any advice for someone who is getting ready to convert from the crossfire to a carb?

Thanks speeddemon651, I bet your vette feels a bit more powerfull after getting rid of that (in my opinion) horrible injection system

You loved this post of yours so much, you just HAD to post it twice. That doesn't make it twice as good, just two times the display of your ignorance.

If he knows that, what do you think the purpose if the post was? He asked:

....duh. Yourself. He seems to know that the TV cable needs to be connected, but he gives no hint as to knowing how critical it is to be set up properly. Than again, neither do you.

I mentioned the importance of the CORRECT linkage, where best to find it and where to find the TV cable, he also asked about. I did the complete job, including the unsolicited opinion, in less than 1/5th the space you took up, not including the quote of my post, and I didn't leave him with any questionable advise, such as Holley part numbers that may or may not apply to the Edelbrock carb he is using, which even according to your own words, "but I'll bet the Holley numbers will work", or dubious statements like, "The TV cable adjustment is easy, and most likely will not require an actual adjustment". What a sport, you are willing to bet HIS transmission on YOUR doubts. What a guy!

I understand myself quite well. My comments may SOUND stupid to someone, such as yourself, that is incapable of comprehending good sound advice. I should, "go be unhappy on some other post"? I posted to this thread, first. If you didn't like it, no one twisted your arm to spend time rebutting with line after line of diatribe on what you declared was an uninvited opinion, with your, by your own accusation, was uninvited. And THEN proceeded to give your ALSO uninvited opinion. Listen to yourself. Heed yourself.

RACE ON!!!

Regarding the conversion and the fuel pump....I took the stock fuel pump out of the tank. I then replaced and plumbed in a new fuel pick-up tube in place of the fuel pump. This was accomplished by using an aluminum tube of about 3/8 inch diameter Next, I plumbed in an electric Holley fuel pump. The fuel pump is plumbed just outside of the tank, but lower than the lowest point of the tank. I plumbed the fuel pump to the stock existing fuel line up to the fuel filter. Next I put a fresh in line filter (stock replacement), then used braided stainless steel line up to the regulator. The holley regulator comes with the holley fuel pump. The regulator should be plumbed in as close as possible to the carb. From the regulator I went to the dual feed tube assembly which then goes directly into the carb. The regulator for my set-up is set at 7 lbs at idle. Upon initial set-up, I plumbed a remote fuel pressure gauge and drove it on the highway. The fuel pressure fluctuated between 6 and 7 lbs.

The holley part number, which includes the pump and regulator, is
12-802-1. The pump has 110 gph capacity and can pump up to 14 lbs. Carbs usually only need 5-7 lbs. The regulator does the job and can be dialed right in to what you need.

My set-up applies to an 85. I am not sure about your original set-up but wanted to share with you so you could use this info as a starting point. If your stock set-up is the same as mine then you could use my modified set-up and it will work very well.

My carb is a Holley 670 cfm street avenger. This conversion is quite easy and my car runs very, very well. The overall carb conversion modification exceeded my expectation for overall power, torque, and street manners. Truly, the engine never misses a beat.

I wish you great success with your conversion, and if I can help you please let me know.

Good Luck.

I had added a LT-1 pump earlier because of the big motor I had installed. I tried a V6 pump it had the fuel pressure but not the volume. I put the LT-1 pump back in then used a mallory FPR with return line brought 40 lbs down to 5 to the carb demon carb fuel line has FP gage port made in it. Everything is working great byt I have a 355 360 hp I am ready to drop in to make the vette a better daily driver again
