Need Help with new Actron!
Any ideas why my new Actron9145 Scan tool will not reconize my '88 Iroc when it's hooked up? Jesse did the prom for me last year and I finally got the scanner for fathers day(thank you wife!). Works fine on my '95 sonoma, which is obd2, but when I change cables to the obd1 it's not reconizing it. Any ideas where to start? Thanks

This won't be much help but I'll relate it anyway. I recently bought an Auto X-ray 6000 (made by same company as Actron) It works fine on all my OBDII cars but is very finicky on my 93 Vette OBDI. I have changed the ALDL cable and the vehicle connector with no difference. I have seen several other posts indicating this is common. I have requested Auto X-ray to research my problem if I get an answer I will post it, please do the same if you find an answer, thanks.

I talked to actron friday, but I was not at home to tell him exactly what the scanner was telling me. I will call them back on monday. Thanks for the info on this seemingly being a common issue, I will relay this on to the tech I talk to, I'm sure they know of it already. I had about the same issue with a laptop and the Moates software. I'll post what the people from actron has to say. Thanks

not much help, but my actron 9145 works ok on obd1 (several)...no issues with hypercrap chip read in my -165 ecm... functions with an ADS chip in a -727 but sez ''wrong prom id/ cylinder select error'' but the car runs ok
do you have the power cable to get 12v from the cig liter?
