I was told by the parts counter person that because it is bress it doesnt need sealant. He also told me that by doing it the sensor wouldnt ground properly. I thought that I could put a little on a few top threads as extra measure but want to get some feedback on it first.
Then yes, use teflon. The sensor has two wires, one is a ground (black wire) that is also connected with the TPS ground and the other (yellow wire) is signal form the ECM that is 5v. The sensor measures the engine temp and sends the info to the ECM for fuel control/drivability. It can be ohmed to tell if it is bad or not. As you know the teflon will prevent coolant leaks.

In this case I dont have to test an existing one. I am replacing a base intake and the replacement one doesnt have one installed and my old base is going to another forum member and I didn't want to take it out of that base.
As for too much info that type of info is always useful to someone at some point. Thanks for the help. So should I use teflon tape or permatex teflon thread sealer?
