Default Has anyone done a solid roller TPI?

I am curious if anyone has done this. And who on the site has installed even a cam with a TPI setup? TPI setup meaning big base/bigger runners/ported plenuem.

Curious to hear the results as well. Ron and I were discussing a solid roller in a TPI. It sounds interesting.

Corvetteronw or Cusinartvette(RON) I assume its Cuisinart...that damn guy wants to put in a solid roller in his damn 82' chevy box van!

Im sure it would make simular power or identical to a hyd. roller in a tpi but won't do much good since a solid roller in a L98 TPI won't see hi rev's to even benefit from it. It might stop some valve float at 5000rpms but it won't breath that high even with mild mods and minor porting. I think if its a race built, extrude honed TPI L98 making over 400chp then its otherwise not worth the hassle.

I'd love to hear from anyone running a solid in a TPI motor also - I've considered the same thing myself.

Solid roller on stock bottom end oh no?. i think its too much cam for a stock 350 but i may not be surprised if used with TPI b/c u will not loose any torque below 3000 rpm for sure, damn it could be possible, that TPI sucker will be super torq monster than, but on the other hand u will be choking at upper rpm as soild roller's will make power upto 6500 rpm easily but with TPI intake it will stop at may be 4800 rpm boy u will be leaving lot a power at the table for free.

Rick common man its time to slap something on ur car, do one thing either buy a ZR1 or go 420 with ur 89 vette plus a soild roller cam plus 225 AFR heads CNC ported and lastly highly ported mini ram,
oh ur 700R4 will be too much for this application so slam a powerglide or 350 tranny oh man stilll not enough power than slam nitrous bottle or a turbo's or supercharger and than slam that sucker infront of ur friend's 930 Rhp viper. See when it comes to power never enough my friend HP is just like money never enough.

Sure why not. It'd go great with these BG 3-valve heads:
