Default 91 wheel question

I purchased a set of OE Concepts 5035-36 wheels which are the ZR-1 look-alikes that are chrome. The question I have is, what should the offset be? They have two options for the 17x9.5, one is the 38mm, and the other is the 56mm. I got the 56mm, and my front tires are out past the fender by approximately 5/8". Should I have gotten the 38mm rims to keep them inside the fender? Doing a quick calculation, 38mm is 1.496", and 56mm is 2.204". I got many compliments on the rims along with a few questions, such as, why are the tires sticking out past the fenders? I'm assuming that with the Grand Sports, and ZR-1's the fender flares are larger than the stock 91 I have. THANKS!!

56mm. is the ones you want for a 9.5 rim on your year, 50 mm. rears if using the 11.rim. If you used the 38 they would really stick out, as that measurement refers to backspacing. Check the back of the rim and see what it actually states, on the inside will be the measurement. Those 56 mm should not stick out at all, you can in "my vette pics" that is exactly what I have with no problems.

Thanks MSEVEN, you are correct about the 56 mm., my rims are 38 mm. and they are past the fender in the front by 3/8", and in the back they are flush. I looked at the boxes they came in this morning. I can live with it because it isn't gross, and also OE Concepts is backlogged until August for the 56 mm rims. I can see why, these rims were only $180 each, and they were very nice pieces!! The only thing I didn't like was the emblem which is incorrect because GM won't release the licensing. But a quick trip to a local vinyl shop, and he made exact reproductions for $20.00, and they look mint. Thanks again!!

you're welcome.....wish I had thought of using a vinyl shop. I hated the non- bow tie stick-ons so much, I ordered a set of caps and emblems from AFS (the only co. I was awre of that can use the real emblem etc.)
