Default Adjusting Throttle Cable - LT1

I have some questions. In the Helms manual it states that I have to depress the "reset tab". When I try to do this it is very tight. I don't want to force it and break it off. Is there a trick to doing this? How many of you have tried adjusting the cable? When I look at the throtte body and get someone else to depress the accelarator pedal to the floor the butterflies do not open all of the way (maybe about 70%). Any help would be truly appreciated.

That tab has to be squeezed from the top and bottom. I believe there's a special tool that has a sharp poiint that goes in the bottom and a flat edge that squeezes the top. I just use pliers and if i squeeze hard enough it will release.

I just replaced the throttle cable from the Throttle Body to the box that has three cables that go to the cruise control and the throttle pedal. Spray some chain lube or WD-40 in the button and press the button in hard and pull on the cable at the same time, it will finally come loose and move back and forth so you can adjust for WOT when another person pushes the throttle pedal to the floor and you are looking at the throtle body to see if it is open all the way. If not push in the button and shorten the cable by pushing it thru the part where the button is and release. I had no manual at all and just kept messing with it while it was still off the car and finally figured it out. A set of GM books are my next thing to purchase.
