Default Headers vs. Superram

I am planning on building a 383, but I have to save up some money first.

I was thinking of buying headers to start with, cause I was thinking that I will need them later anyway. But maybe I should start with a Superram. It is the same $$

What do you think?

The Super Ram is not the same money. Its more. You need the base and the SR. The base is $459.00 and the Super Ram is $759.00. Headers are about $750.00 from TPIS. Its a tough call. I'd say go for the the SR.

Headers.. First

if you get the super ram you should get the base at the sametime. But also you should consider what you want from the 383.. headers will work for both.. but when you go the 383 will you want a motor that has power inthe upper RPMs? or similar to the stock set-up?

Headers - The SR can't breathe more if the stock exhaust can't get the air out.

I have the HOK2149 Hooker Super Comps. They were about $450 through summit. Easy install, and they're quality!

Go with Headers FIRST. Then, once you do the SR/383 you'll be set to go. 1"5/8's or 1"3/4?

I think I will go with headers first. But which one should I get? And in what size? I was planning on Lingenfelter but I have heard through the Forum that they are a PITA to install, so now I am thinking of TPIS.

If you're making a stout 383, 1 3/4" headers will work. People seem to like the Hookers.

Where is the O2 sensor located on the Hookers?

Is it in the collector or one of the exhaust pipes before the collector?
