I need Help!
I have a 96 LT4 that has an oil leak right now, but i plan on pulling the motor and resealing it. Only problem is that I need help getting a Good matching engine Package together for when the motors out.
Here's the guidelines:
1. Engine budget is about $3500 for parts
2. I Plan on staying with stock cubes and bottom end.
3. I want 425-450RWHP, Exhaust: - I will be running LT's to and X with 3" pipes into 1 chambers dumped after the rear axle
4. I want reliability, and i only plan on reving to 6600 RPMs
Heres where i need help from you guys:
1. I have No idea what makes a Engine package Balanced so i need recommendations on everything from who to get the valve train from to matching the heads and cam.
2. I want to run a REAL big cam, maybe like a 242/248 at 050. I was thinking of something like AFR LT4 Race heads, a Ported LT4 intake but im not sure what will perform the best with good reliabiliy, and what will be a good combination that will work together, especially in a 350.
3. What components should i run for a valvetrain?
4. Please give me some good advice and suggestions.

Kevin, thats a lot of power you are looking at. I recomend you talk to a tuner that has a lot of experience. They can point you toward the right parts combination and one that is tuneable. Big cams and heads are great, but useles ( a nightmare ) if the programming is off.
Also, I hate to say it, but your budget aint going to to get er done. It will buy the big stuff. You wont believe how much you will spend on odds and ends to do this. Gaskets, filters, oil, antifreeze, hoses, spark plugs, wires, and stuff just falls apart sometimes when taking apart an older car.
