Hi guys. I'm having the following probelms with my car. Any suggestions whether big or small would be appreciated.
The symptoms are:
-dash lights are not coming on at night. Not the main cluster, but the cruise control panel and hvac.
-the ac compressor is not clicking on when the ac is turned on
-the vent location is not changing over when you try to push the button on the hvac console. The only one that's working is the air toward your feet. I'm guessing that is what it was on when all this stuff went out.
I haven't tried the cruise control to see if that works still. I just got my ac charged up and found out that the ac compressor isn't clicking on. They hot wired it to charge up the ac system.
I don't know too much about this stuff so any help is appreciated.
just got in from checking the fuses. They seem to look good. I have the manual and tried to check anything that had anything to do with either the dash or the ac.
the taillights are working right now. I disconnected the battery and when reconnected, the air would come on for a bit and then cut out. I tried just switching it to the ignition position but not starting it too. The vent will not switch position either, so I'm going to check the vaccuum line for leaks. I have a boost/vaccuum guage and it's showing vacuum off where it is connected to.
Also, I noticed that the dash accessory lights(fog light button, head lights ect. the stuff on the left side of the steering wheel) and also the hvac control night lights quit after I hooked up the light for the boost and fuel pressure guages. If something is grounding, wouldn't the fuse be blown? I checked the fuses and nothing appears to be blown. Maybe it's just barely tripped and I can't see it?..... Are there any possible common locations for something to go wrong?
Maybe something came loose when we were digging around the dash trying to find a place to hook up the guages.
