Timing Chain Question- Urgent
I dont want the Heavy Duty GM timing chain. I was wondering if there is a cheaper yet still good chain. Is there anything special about the LT1/LT4 chain? Will this work...

As far as I know, if you are sticking with the stock water pump. The stock LT4 timing set or the LT4 Extreme Duty set are your only options. Look on the back of the top timing gear. There is a gear to drive the water pump drive-shaft. A conventional timing set doesn't have that provision.
Also, the Cloyes may have not worked with the 96's crankshafts reluctor ring.

First number is the GM part number. Second one is from a place that would be the top of a mountain. Get it?

Look around, you can get it cheaper! Dam, found it for $13.77 it's actually made by Cloyes for GM!!!
