Even though I am ridiculed as being a smartass, I must agree that was a very mean comment. Dial-up is still internet which is more than some people can say.(Btw I got me a speaker to type my words so please no more complaining).
Keep the pics coming. Now I wish I had brought my bar inside the car more on my 86. I could have kept my door panels and wiper switch
I don't see the windshield bars very clear.I should have put my front bar higher.
Best I have seen so far for a legal bar.
I started my bar with the R&D 4 point for about 350.00 and built off of that.I think my roll bar is the uglyest I have seen.
You sure did a good job on the window net, mine gets caught if I don't pull it out of the way before I close the door.I have swing outs on my 94 but that roll bar is just that bolt in and not realy legal for this year, only welded in 2 places.
So the most fun I have had with the car is replacing the trans every 2 mths and tring to get the trans blanket around the trans.
Everything is NHRA legal... The door bar runs halfway between my shoulder and elbow as mandated in the NHRA chassis certification book. The only other thing I could do would be to 'x' it which is part of the 25.5 chassis rule. Other than that I don't guess I know what you're asking about the door sills... The frame runs through the body in the door sill are and you're actually sitting below the frame. Not being a road race car additional tubing along this area is not needed (other than the aforementioned 'x').
Mine's a RR car, so I was thinking about a little more side impact protection. It wouldn't be hard for me to add that.
I like how you got the beams into the engine bay. I've been trying to find a way to do that without too many holes in the firewall.

Yeah...Mine just goes fast in a straight line. The other pics of full cages in this thread are of road race pieces; the door bars look just like what you'd find on a NASCAR or a Trans Am car while mine is typical of a drag car. The snout bars have no fewer than five bends in them where Bobby snaked them around everything. You could go above the HVAC/heater core on the passenger side but since I removed mine it was no biggie. The dashbar in mine is kinda hard to see but it's up pretty high where you'd want it.
As for all the bitching on this thread; I think everyone involved needs to STFU and get back to the thread at hand. I know CFI-EFI and everyone else involved and I think it got a little out of hand. I'm not going to change how I post to save a few people some download time; however I'm not going to slam them either and neither should any of you...So grow up and play nice.

Any chance you bend and send, or do you just do your own stuff? I don't have anything in my engine bay (well, there is a motor in there), so anything you fit in your C4 would fit in mine. I could get some dimensions on door beams from plenty of folks here, and can weld the bars in myself.

I did not build my cage... That's one area I leave to a professional chassis builder. The guy that did my cage is very well known in the street legal drag racing circles and is here in Arkansas. He's a very good friend of mine and his company is Shahan Race Cars. Bobby does everything from simple cages up to full jig-built tube chassis'. I would suggest calling him. 501-905-9089 and tell him I told you to call. He "might" cut and bend a weld-up kit, but I kinda doubt it. He prefers to do the entire installation if he's going to have his name put on it.
I built EVERYTHING else on the car... All the suspension pieces, motor, interior, tranny mount/torque arm, sheet metal intake, fuel cell, etc... I just left the cage up to someone that KNOWS how to make a car work.

This might be a stupid question but at least I am good for something. Why do you have 2 seats in a race car? Is this required for the class you run?
I run the various "Street Legal Drag Racing" events and unless you have an Outlaw 10.5 car you're required to have two front seats. Now, I've got a customer I did a Mustang for awhile back and it has a Kirkey in the passenger side but the liquid/air intercooler tubes run right through the middle of it!!! I cut holes to run the 4" piping through the backrest and into the water reservoir in the back. Most of the rules say you HAVE to have the seat; they just don't say whether or not it has to be "habitable."
That said, my car has a passenger seat for a second reason and that's simply the fact that I like scaring the **** out of people occasionally!

Jeb, Jeffvette and mrc24x - I can't see where/how the main hoop is tied into the car in your photos. Can on eof you take a shot of the where the main hoop is mounted?
BTW - S&W racecars lists a C4 weld-in cage kit on their Web site but are pretty vague on the specifics. I suppose you'd have to call them...
Hi Loiq,
I actually ordered the S & W pre-bent cage and ordered some extra tubing to add the "Nascar" bars. Unfortunately, the only part of the cage that I used was the main hoop. The halo part of the S & W kit came directly over my head and just didn't workout. I ended up having a race shop do the whole thing and they used my tubing from the kit. Not the best way to do it but it worked out.
As far as the main hoop mounts...mine is welded to the frame at the base of the floor. I'll see if I can find some pics.
