Hi Loiq,
I actually ordered the S & W pre-bent cage and ordered some extra tubing to add the "Nascar" bars. Unfortunately, the only part of the cage that I used was the main hoop. The halo part of the S & W kit came directly over my head and just didn't workout. I ended up having a race shop do the whole thing and they used my tubing from the kit. Not the best way to do it but it worked out.
As far as the main hoop mounts...mine is welded to the frame at the base of the floor. I'll see if I can find some pics.
That's usually how those cage kits work out - you're just buying the hoop that's bent to fit your car and some tubes.
Does the cage interfere with your seat travel at all?
Jeb, Jeffvette and mrc24x - I can't see where/how the main hoop is tied into the car in your photos. Can on eof you take a shot of the where the main hoop is mounted?
BTW - S&W racecars lists a C4 weld-in cage kit on their Web site but are pretty vague on the specifics. I suppose you'd have to call them...
C4 Vettes have an unusual frame; they are narrow at the ends and wide down the middle... The main hoop on my cage ties into the frame right where it necks down to go into the rear (just above the bulkhead behind the seats). My rear bars tie into the frame directly over the shock mounts, the doorbars and dash bars tie into the frame in the footwells, and the snout bars tie into the frame on the pickup points for the front suspension.
