My 93 wont start! Checked fuel press (held 39 lbs for over 10 mins.), ohmed fuel injectors(13+all), Changed fuel filter, even syphoned gas and replaced with fresh, getting spark at all cylinders, will not fire even with either sprayed into air intake. Ive ruled out a fuel problem. My question is..........If the optispark goes bad, Would I still be getting spark at all cylinders and shouldint it at least start? I know it can effect performance but I figure it should at least start. Also could a bad Opti effect timing at all?
First thing you absolutely need to do first is dump your error codes. This will set you on the right path to diagnosis. This is easy to do yourself, or take to Autozone for free error check.
Yes the Opti can screw up timing if the optical sensor or shutter wheel are defective. Is your Opti original? How many plugs did you test for spark?
How fast did your fuel pressure drop after 10 minutes? It should hold for many hours, and only drop very very slowly.
Also, is eyther the same as starting fluid(ie Is it highly combustable)?
