Default Headlights do not work

Hi all,

About 6 months ago my both of my headlights worked great.

About 3 months ago I started seeing a dim glow of the "High Beam Indicator" light on the dash when ever the headlights were on and the headlights were not as bright as normal.

About 1 month ago the headlights started only putting off a dim glow (the "High Beam Indicator" light on the dash was glowing much brighter).

Now tonight I turned on the headlights and they do not work at all. The tail lights and side marker lights are illuminated. The light buckets roll over like normal. The "High Beam Indicator" light on the dash glows extremely bright as if the lights are on bright.

Is there a fuse I am missing? I cannot seem to locate a fuse for just the headlights.

Any help with this would be so much appreciated.

thanks,
Brian

Your symptoms point directly to a poor ground connection at your headlights. Check for corrosion on the contacts in the plug and socket on each headlight and then check the frame ground connection. You will most likely find a rusted or corroded frame ground connection.

You guys are wonderful! When I took apart the passenger side light the plastic 3 prong clip that the headlight plugs directly into was melted at the ground connector. Thanks so much. Now I am off to AutoZone to see if they sell the plastic connector to wire back in a new one.

Thanks again,
Brian
