From my reading of numerous olders posts it looks like there's no easy answer for what injectors to get for my 90 L98. Here's what I've gleaned from the posts:
Original injectors for this year were horrible.
Most Forum readers don't like the Accel injectors.
Just back from 5-0's website; how aobut the Bosch XF2E-22.5 injector. Anyone with experience with these?
Sounds like Ford "pink tops" are preferred by CF readers, but that with both 22# and 24# there may be fuel pressure issues that will need to addressed. Which one and part #?
I'm going to try this fix myself (as a newbie) so I'd like to minimize the complications.
If I had the money, I would buy the "Tomco" direct replacement injectors from Mid America because they have the same rotary disc design as the originals but, they cost $64.99 each. (still a lot cheaper than OEM)
Ford Pink Top DB9 22.5lb injectors are popular because they're direct L98 replacements, great quality and only $289 a set.
Here's a quote from Five-O's site on the Ford Pink Top D9B 22.5lb injectors:
Fitments:
1985-91 Corvette L98
SPECIAL NOTE: These Bosch/Ford injector sets are spec-stock for the 2002-04 Mustang 4.6 2-valve modular engine.
They have been carefully cross-referenced to match your original injector specs for flow and electrical resistance.
I have a set of $99 LS1 take-off injectors from SLP. They did require a little chip tuning because they flow much more than the stockers but they work just fine. Some here have used them w/o tuning and the O2 sensor can keep them in line.
