And the base has dropped prices compared to last year.
Unfortunately SR parts are not available ...
Last 2 monts a friend of mine ordered from Summit and Jegs... backorder, backorder...backorder,backorder,...
Even Tjwong said me about this long time to wait...
Sorry but as far as I know JEGs, SUMMIT are totally out. I have one in stock but its spoken for. I know where I can get my hands on a complete unit with fuel rails and everything but its going to be more $$$ Accel has advised me that it could be up to 6 months before we will see more SRs That is a real bummer because I know many that wants them. I don't know what is going on with them and Mr Gasket has been tight lipped about the problems. I even spoke with their VP at a trade show and he basically gave me the "smoothy treatment" typical for a salesman!
Mr Gasket is probably looking for a new subvendor to address the quality problems I've heard over the last 2 (?) years.....namely bad machining and that pesky problem of someone packing the wrong gaskets in with the SR
plenum & runners kit.......

I was wondering, can the stock runners be used or do I have to get new ones?

Perhaps they've undertaken a total redesign of the Super Ram based on
the experiences and work-arounds detailed in numerous CF threads
with the aim of transforming installation and operation into a
trouble-free affair?

This crap from Accel sounds like a broken record. This is the same sh*t they were spewing in July of 2005 when I was looking for one. In over 1 year they still can't get their parts made correctly?
Buy a miniram from TPiS and save yourself some aggravation.
I bought my SR manifold used from someone, lightly ported, and a NIB plenum & runners kit from an individual on ebay. All combined it was $800. The plenum & runners kit was mf'd about 3 years ago. There have been no issues, no leaks after 1 year so far. The gaskets have all been installed DRY.
I had a SR base on order from my WD since last September and finally cancelled it when I found a good used one here on CF. I would have preferred a brand new piece, but I'm satisfied with the one I wound up with and time constraints dictated getting a used one.
My personal thinking is Accel is likely discontinuing the SR, based on what I've read on various sites, etc. The market hasn't really "dried up", but as the TPI cars have depreciated in value to wind up in more and more people's hands, those same guys can't seem to rationalize the high costs involved in modifying these same "affordable" cars, whether they be F or Y body platform.
The "big box" retailers like Summit and Jegs are also part of the problem with their pricing (sometimes selling at a loss to undercut competition), and some of the manufacturers are tired of having their lines "whored out" as I was told repeatedly at a trade show. While this can be considered a good thing to a typical enduser (customer) who buys once and that's it, the manufacturer looks to their distribution system for sales, not endusers. Rather than put up with the expense of manufacture and make a razor thin (or sometimes non-existent) profit margin, they'll simply discontinue the item as it's not profitable for them to make.
