Default 96 key FOB concerns

I dropped my keyfob.... now, go figure, it doesn't work. I tried reprogramming it but it does not sense the transmitter when it is in range.

Is the FOb pooched or is there something else that i should do. There is not another fob near the car. The only other item to do is disconnect the battery in the car?? and then reprogram.... removing the battery in the FOB didn't help.

The FOB was programmed and worked flawlessly since last year.....

Have you opened it up to make sure that nothing (like the battery) came loose?

The battery seems to be fine, certain not loose. All of the circuitry seems to be fine too. Battery voltage reads 2.7V, instead of 3.0. Might be a concern but I doubt it...... :(

There is a small sliding weight inside which causes the fob to sense movement to actuate the operation . This may have been damaged after the drop.
