Default IAC and TPS?

What do they look like and where are they located. I'm quessing so far that the TPS sensor is located on the Pass. side TB. Which is the IAC? Is the IAC part of the MAF.

Thanks in advance,

JB

The TPS sensor is indeed located where you thought, but don't touch it unless you have a voltmeter and have read up (searched archives)on how to adjust it and the minimum idle procedure. IAC is right below it and has a square four prong connector. It is hard to see because the 1 inch rubber smog hose runs right over it. Why are you asking? I feel like the dad whose 5 year old asked where the electric drill is located.

Thanks. Thats what I needed to know, "Dad" Don't worry I've been doing the research, and found I have a Code 21. "TPS voltage high"

Tonight the engine idle shot up to 1500 in Park/Nuetral, so I checked for codes and thats what it flashed. I looked up the fix to adjust the idle in tech tips. But before I did anything I thought that it might be a vac. leak, but I did'nt see/feel/hear any.

When I looked at what I "thought" (you confirmed) was the TPS it was able to move freely which is why I'm probably having this problem. Can't for the life of figure out how it got lose, but it is. So tomorrow I'm gonna buy the volt meter and do the set idle procedure and make sure the dang thing is tight this time. I'm thinking that maybe when I had my intake manifold gasket replaced the mechanic might have not tightend the TPS nut good enough.

Anyway thats why I needed to know, I just wasn't sure which was which, just quessing. Thanks for clearing that up.

OK "son" glad you are on the right track. The two little torx bolts that hold it tight are brittle steel into soft aluminum. Be careful. One of mine was stripped and broke trying to remove it. Yours may already be stripped by a previous owner or mechanic. If it is, read up on removing the TB and cleaning it. It's probably filthy inside anyway and fixing it correctly will be a lot easier. I did mine so it can't be that hard. I drilled out the broken bolt, ran a thread chaser in the hole, and reassembled everything, only tightening the bolt just more than finger tight. It doesn't take much to hold it in place and it's real easy to strip one. And yes, a high TPS setting will make it idle high and erratic.
If you don't have the time to clean it now, just adjust the TPS. Even one torx bolt tight will hold it in place I discovered.
