Default Reverse Lights Interchangeable?

I did a search and could not find anything on this subject.

I need to replace both of my reverse lights. They are very cloudy (almost black).

I found some for sale, but they say that they are right side reverse lights. To me they look like they would work on either side. Couldn't I just buy 2 of them and turn one around to use on the left side?

The dealer says that these are discontinued and I am having a heck of a time finding these anywhere. Thanks for the help!

you should be able to clean the goo out of the inside.

if nothing else, it's worth a shot! I would pour some simple green into each fixture and let it soak for a while... rinse with hotwater and see what happens... shake it some... maybe put some small BBs in there to scrub it for ya.

That's an idea worth considering. It seems like the plastic is actually discolored, but it could be dirty.

I contacted a Corvette salvage yard and they said that all of theirs would be discolored to some degree which made me think that it was one of those unavoidable issues with C4s and why I wanted to buy new ones.

Do you know if they are interchangeable or if I need to find a RH and a LH?

No they are not interchangeable and you do need to find a RH or LH one. I ordered a set from vette2vette and they had ones that looked brand new from a low mileage vette that was wrecked. I paid $40 for mine.

You could try it on your Vette now! It would be quiet simple then you'll be able to purchase them!

Thanks,Matt

I threw mine in the dishwasher (top shelf and air dry) . It works good. Then I polished them with a very mild compound for plastic.
