Default White stinky smoke

Just got my 91 back together, replaced ,plug wires, plugs, injectors with ford blue tops, cap, rotor, lower and upper intake gaskets, and mild porting of runners and intake.Problem is that starts fine then it hunts for idle, starts running rough, starts pouring white fuel rich smoke out and then dies. No codes. Do i have to reprogram the eprom to work with the ford injectors? Or do I have an 02 sensor problem?
Thanks for any help.

white smelly smoke? That makes me think it's burning coolant.

pull the plugs... if they are white and sweet smelling, then there is the problem.

Fuel rich smoke is usually black.
Oily smoke is usually blue.
Coolant smoke is usually white.

Maybe you're rich and burning coolant. Check your oil and plugs.

If coolant has gotten into your oil , you'll know it right away. Looks like a milkshake.

and eats bearings for lunch... ask me how I know...

I am with 89... you are burning coolant, which, might just fatten the mixture to make up for the added liquid.

I wonder if you got carried away with the port job and thinned out the walls a bit TOO much.

Checked the oil,it' good, going to check the plugs when it cools off. I'm afraid it might be coolant getting sucked into an intake port.As for the porting I took almost no meat off, just cleaned it up.
Thanks

I think I might have screwed up by not putting sealant on the top of intake to head water port gasket,That's what it's acting like. The hotter it gets the worse it smokes.Oh well, here we go again.
Thanks!

I don't know if this could be it, but on my pops 89 there was white smelly smoke when he blew his head gaskets.

You can start the engine and use a radiator psi testor to attempt to apply psi to the coolant system. If the tool will not induce psi and you are seeing the white smoke from the exhaust, you definitely have a coolant leak.

Autozone and O'Reilly will typically loan this tool in their tool program.
