Headlight: metal gear or plastic?

Hi.

I need to change the gears or bushings or both in my headlights. The bronze gear is available as is the plastic one. Any advice, any experience with upgrading (or so the ad says) to the bronze gear?

if you go with the bronze gear, you will never have to replace again..Nylon gears were used by GM simply to save $$$

Glass headlights wear out the plastic gears. Plastic headlights ava. from NAPA. Donf

One advantage of the plastic gear is that it will strip if the headlight jambs up. The gear acts like a mechanical circuit breaker, so to speak.

Go with the plastic! Because should somethig happen the plastic gives out and the metal gear will destroy the gear on the motor for the headlight should something go wrong! Like I always say plastic and metal should not mix!!!
