Default one last booster ?

My peddle stops now about 1/2 in from were it should. The directions are not real clear, how do I adjust the rod to go out further?

Do you turn the bolt or the locking nut and which way?

I assume you want to make the actuator rod longer from the booster. First unbolt the master. Take a piece of wood and position it between the pedal and the seat so it depresses the pedal about half way. Now you have the actuator rod out in the open where you can work on it. I have used a pare of vice grips to clamp the shaft about ½ inch back from the nut. Do not over tighten, just enough to hold it. Then take a small wrench and turn the nut counterclockwise to move it out and make the shaft length longer.

Hard to tell you how much to adjust it especially when you get to the right position. If it is to long, when you bolt the master, the brakes will drag or lock. There needs to be enough clearance between the nut and the piston of the master to allow for heat expansion, about 1/8 inch approx. You might want to jack a up a wheel and turn it while bolting up the master. If additional adjustments are needed only turn nut about 1 turn per trial and error procedure.

I have found a ball park, eyeball method where when the pedal is all the way up, the top of the nut should be approximately level or slightly less with the imaginary surface of the booster.
