I need a service manual for my 1984 and was wondering which is better, Chiltons or Haynes or should i spend the bucks on a factory servie manual. Thanks for any help in advance.

I began by going the Chiltons/Haynes route which was a waste of money. There are too many differences year to year so you need the Shop Service manual for your specific year. Helm's is the source for these. http://www.helminc.com
Only other book(s) I have found of use is "101 Projects for your Corvette" by Richard Newton and one on fuel injection. As I remember the Shop manual for the 84 was cheap..about $75. I've a 95 and it was about $140+ (2 books) even at $140+ it has paid for itself many, many times over!!!!
