All C4s with a Dana 44 have the same length drive shaft. For your custom application, simply bottom the slip yoke in the transmission and measure center to center from where the front joint installs in the slip yoke to the center of where the rear joint installs in the pinion yoke. Subtract 1" for slip and tell the drive line shop that you want a 1310 drive shaft made to your dimension, center to center with your slip yoke installed. That's all there is to it.

I have a 72 Datson Pick-Up with a V8, an 84 Corvette front suspension. I’m puling the 9” and replacing it with an 86 corvette Dana 44 from a manual Trans. I like to go around corners fast not just a straight line. The rear is in and I’m remounting the engine and Trans (TKO 600 5 speed). My drive shaft need to be 28”. I might be able to get by with a 29” driveshaft. I have a little play in my engine mounts to adjust for the length, but not very much.
If anyone can measure there DRIVEshaft, the one with the U-joints, it’s under the car. Than I can buy one for that year model.
Thank you
any help will help

See my post above this one of yours that I quoted. ALL C4 with manual transmission, driveshafts are the same length.
ok what is the length is a automatic longer or shorter will the auto trans drive shaft fit the d-44 rearend
The auto is longer... but I couldn't tell you how much. The D44 is approx. 1" longer than the D36 but the auto is longer than the ZF if i'm not mistaken making the difference within an inch.... but I could be wrong. I know someone who can make you a custom driveshaft for around $280 shipped for the shaft, yoke, and u-joints installed.
