My 92 six speed at 78000 miles was running like a charm. I was cruising along with the A/C blowing to the max and the engine died. Will crank but not start. No spark to plugs, no codes, coil tests good. THe autozone guy tested the module and it failed but he said he would feel better if he got an new one ordered and double checked it because the mods usually get warm from testing and don't fail both sides at once and mine is cold as mud and fails every time. I have to wait anyway but hate to spend the money and still be walking. Any ideas?

From the desciption it sounds like the igniton module is toast.
It was the ignition module. So fun in 100 heat but pretty easy. I'm taking that as a heads up it;s time to replace opti, water pump, hoses, wires and plugs. 14 years is pushing my luck I'd say.
I wouldnt go ahead and replace the water pump and opti spark unless you really really want to or you suspect they are on the way out, if its running good now, it aint broke, so dont fix it!!
I would go ahead and replace the coil, too. When my ICM tanked, it took the coil with it, and you can be sure yours has been distressed and compromised, too.
Cheap peace of mind from getting flatbedded again. Take it from a guy who's been there, too....
