This is this guys first post ever on the forum and this is your reply ? Chevy built your car with a pair of exhaust manifolds. Hooker makes a set of shorty headers for it. I would recommend a set of longtube headers for it. You will get a real performance gain from a set of longtubes. The shorty headers don't do much for performance, which is what CFI EFI should have said rather than being a smart ***. You can get longtube headers from

You need to double check your parts book. 91s (not sure what other years) did NOT have cast iron exhaust manifolds. They had stainless steel, tubular exhaust manifolds that, as CFI-EFI pointed out, are very similar to shorty headers. Chevy switched to cast iron mainfolds in 92.

My 88 has stock shortys. If I port the hell out of them, they might even let some exhaust out. Yours should have them to, as CFI-EFI pointed out in his own special, way.

They may Not be made out of cast iron as they are on every C4 I've ever seen but shorty headers they are not. A set of Hooker shorty's might gain 5-9 rwhp. A set of longtubes will double that.

I'm not saying that the stockers flow well or that headers won't help, I'm just refuting your claim that they were cast iron.

Welcome to the forum. As you can see most folks are helpful. Only a few are rude "know it alls".

If you would fill out the rest of your profile it will help us help you.
There are aftermarket shortys availible for your car which of course was the intent of your question. Try www.summitracing.com
Do a search using your cars specific info.
