Kinda like turning off the key only you didn't! I'd suspect it's losing the reference signal from the distributor and it won't fire the injectors without it. So see if it's rich or lean first (to rule out the MAF) or if there's a big electrical surge from something like the fan cranking up as you roll to a stop. If not, I'd replace the ignition module and pickup along with making sure that the 4 wire harness from the distributor doesn't have any nicks or abrasions in it.
