Upper Control Arm Bushings
Can the upper control arm bushings be replaced for a 1991 coupe? The reason I am asking is that my local auto parts store does not show replacement upper bushings to be available and my local GM Chevrolet dealership shows the whole control arm as being available only. However, both Ecklers and Mid American show a control arm bushing kit being available. Also, the design of the control arm makes it difficult to imagine the bushings can be replaced. Thanks.

GM and consequently, the legitimate, replacement after market offers no replacement bushings. That is why Chevy wants to sell you the upper control arm assembly. As you have learned, only performance, non stock, bushings are available. Many on here have up graded their bushings.

go for the black poly w/ graphite. A little light sanding on the inside to break the mold sheen & expose the graphite + a little of the lube supplied & your good to go. As in no squeeks... A bench top press can do the job but be careful to NOT bend the A-arm.

Upper Control Arm Bushings
What's the word on the Polyurethane bushings? I have heard they have a tendacy to squeak? Will they last longer than the rubber ones? Also, I understand the old bushings will need to be pressed out. I can remove the control arms but how do I find someone that can press the old ones out? I live in the Houston area if anyone knows of anyone that can do it.
