Default How to change convertor

I am planning on changing the torque convertor in my 93 and before I order one what do I need to know to install it correctly ? I've changed my Dana 36 to a Dana 44 and I've replaced the opti, waterpump, hoses mess without too much trouble. Is the convertor easier or harder in comparison ? I just want to make sure I don't drop $700.00 bucks for something I can't install. So how do you change it ? I know you have to pull the bellhousing bolts and I think there are three bolts holding the convertor on but thinking is not what I do best, ask my wife
I was wondering if I should get a transgo shift kit and have a tranny shop do the convertor and transgo at the same time ? How bad could it be money wise ?? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I would go with the Vigilante TQ and if you install it yourself,Make sure you use lots of lock tight on the TQ converter bolts.
Trans go, it's not necessary to remove the trans to install kit.
I would purchase 2 extra jack stands to keep the rear end from droping after removing the C-Beam,and trans.

You did the other work yourself you should have no problem doing a torque converter swap and the (transgo shift kit) just read the instructions good and take your time and you will do alright.

The trans must be completely removed from the car to access the converter. There are 3 hardened metric bolts that hold the converter to the flexplate. You should always install a new front pump seal, and a new input shaft o-ring. 3 new converter bolts are good insurance. Always change the filter and pan gasket as well. Read the transgo instructions before attempting the install. For firmest shifts, the kit requires buying additional parts. The kit is also intended for a professional transmission rebuilder and is quite difficult to install. Read the directions first and then you can best determine if it is within your ability.
