I am currently having a problem geting the rail between the fuel rails to seal to the fuel rails. I have gone through many o rings and it is almost like the rail is not long enough to seal on both ends. Has anyone experienced this or know where i can get a new one from. thanks guys
Try to reword it, you keep saying rails and fuel rails. Sounds like you are calling the metal tubes.. rails. If this is the case, put the O-ring onto the tube and THEN insert the tube into the side of the fuel rail. I would bolt one fuel rail down first, then after getting the tube properly inserted and push the injectors all the way back in, then bolt on last fuel rail. Be sure that injector holes are really cleaned up. I plugged injector holes with a paper towel and cleaned around holes with a can of spray carb cleaner, so that no debris got into my heads.
DONT put the O-ring inside the fuel rail and THEN try to insert the tube!!! No matter how easy it looks, it aint. THe sequence is very important here.
Many Holley carbs call for the same technique when installing the transfer tube..
Place the "O" ring on the very tip of the tube, put a very small amount of lube on the "O" ring and gently and slowly insert the tube. Sometimes a gentle rocking motion helps too.
I have the o-rings from advanced auto (parts house) and i think that they are not the correct ones. The car has a TPIS mini-ram 2 on it and the fuel rails look like an LT1 setup. I would like to replace the tube that connects the fuel rails as well but i am not sure where i can get one. I guess i will have to try and get this from GM??
Advanced auto knows the mini ram
I would contact TPIS
TPIS uses/sells black rubber ones that will split and crack real fast. Installing takes a little patience and some motor oil on the O rings. After it is together you will be able to slide it in the center from side to side. Did I mention patience????
