hood lights

I just leave mine unplugged 24/7/365

Gordon has a boatload of extra parts and connectors at his place, so we stripped 2 weatherpack connector sets from a junk wiring harness to use in between the original light connectors. We got two male and two female connectors that match those used on the Vette for the underhood lights. We soldered a toggle switch in between the additional connectors and covered it with heat shrink and waterproof electrical tape. Then the male connector that is soldered to the switch is connected to the female on the car and the female soldered to the switch is connected to the male on the car. It works great. I can flip on either or both lights, one at a time. If I wanted to go back to completely stock, I just unplug the connectors and reconnect with the switch out of the loop.
You can get the connectors at any junk yard that has GM vehicles. The connectors can also be bought new from Delphi or any auto supply place that carrys the Weatherpack line. You need 2 males, 2 females, a switch, some crimp connetors or a soldering gun, heatshrink, and a small can of liquid elelectrical tape (Home Depot).
You can also order them from Gordon directly. He is making and selling them now. His price of $10.00 is a steal.
