CD Ignition- spark advance ?
If you are running an CD ignition like a MSD 6 ,
does the improved spark give you the abilty to crank in more static advance before getting knock?

My vote is no. Knock occurs long after the ignition is complete. And knock is caused by localized pressure and temperature, not anything related to how minimally different the mixture was initially ignited.
Also, more advance does not necessarily equal more power. (You want the maximum cylinder pressure at 15*ATDC.) Do you suspect that your timing curve needs adjustment?
