Default Ramps

I am looking at replacing my mufflers and possibly Y pipe. I looked at ramps, but the ones I have seen so far, I am worried 1) that when I back the car onto them they will not give me enough room to get under the car by the cat and y pipe 2) if they are too high, they front spoiler will hit the ground when rear is backed up on them or spoiler will hit when driving forward on them to raise front end.

Is there a ramp (height, grade, brand, etc..) most vette owners use that works best?

Company called race ramps makes ones that our vettes drive up on with no problem both in 5" and 10" tall versions. Little pricey, though.

I've taken my entire exhaust from the cat-->back off many times with just my rhino ramps. If you have a driveway with a slope, have the car facing the house and just back up onto the ramps for an extra 1" or so from the slope. There is plenty of room to work on it.

2nd method. Back up onto the ramps, then jack the front of the car up and stick jack stands under it to get it really high off the ground.

I use Rhino ramps with a 2"x12" (wood) to get over the spoiler.

I use the Rhino ramps, but instead od driving up, I jack up the car and just place the ramp under the tire and lower the jack.

I have two oak boards (2X12 inches) about four feet long, and I set on a row of about four cement blocks side by side on each side of the car behind the rear tires. Then, I back the car up the ramps and put bricks beside all four tires so the car can't roll any.

I have some black plastic generic ramps I bought at Autozone. I can't pull the vette on to them, they just slide forward. I can back on to them, but I can't pull forward onto them. They work great on my other cars, but just not the vette for some reason.

They also only raise the car about 6 inches, so I can't get under it on my creeper. All in all, they are a good idea, but it's just easier for me to use a jack and jack stands.
