Is there a higer output than stock/original heater/AC blower available for a 1985 C4 ?

The AC is cold but it does not blow out hard enough to suit me. I'm spoiled on my late model Silverado and Monte Carlo.

Help cool me down,

JED

Nothing of the kind.... C4 airflow is marginal at best, and worse on earlier models such as yours (84-87). That's why GM refines the platform with each passing model year.

... which is another way of saying, testing it in the field....but truthfully, even the great mfrs. from across the Pacific do the same thing.

I've had one with an a/c that when the generation/model changed, they upped its output by 60%, increased the fan motor to the cabin, etc., etc. Of course, I had the older generation....like you.

I don't get it: all the mfrs do testing in the desert at Gila Bend, go up into the Colorado Rockies for winter testing ,and they still don't get it right. Or, they CHOOSE not to until later years... must be cost.

You could try running a search on the evaporator core, if thats plugged up solid the airflow gets bad.

But dont expect night/day in general.
