Does anyone know where the switch is that controls the coolant fan relays on my 96 LT4? Checked the relays and they are OK so I let the engine get real warm to see if the fans aver came on. Finally at 225 the fans switched on. I'm assuming that ther is a temp switch somewhere that tell the relay to start up them fans, jus tdon't know where it is. Any help on this or if someone thinks it another problem please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

It’s a different concept that you think. The Temp sensor on the front of the water pump is connected to the PCM. The software in the PCM decides when to turn on the fans. It gets a signal from the A/C also and turn on the fans. The fan will normally come on at 225* with out the A/C. Of course the PCM energizes the fan relays.
Don't know if I should trust this, but according to the dreaded Hayne's manual the primary fan should come on @ 228F, which seemed a bit high to me, but I've been told is normal for my '96 LT1. P.S.: I hope this isn't thread hijacking,I don't mean to.
I am going to re-post my first post. I know that this is for a 94 but not sure it applied to a 96. I thought both fans came on at the same time for the 96 so I changed it. So here is the 94 verson which I know is correct. It may be good for the 96 hopfully.
And Tomcat, your car sounds normal.

It gets a signal from the A/C and turn on the drivers (primary) fan. The fan will normally come on at 225* with out the A/C. The secondary fan comes on at about 235-239* and is strictly controlled by the PCM, via the temp. Of course the PCM energizes the fan relays.
