Default Source for opti spark

I'm pretty sure my opti has bit the dust. Where's the best place to buy a high quality replacement? The car is only used on the track, no street time, so I need a good one that I can count on.

Of course I'm going to replace the water pump too while I'm doing it so if anyone knows of a good source for those other than Advance I'd like to know about it.

Thanks in advance.

Nice product.

I just ordered one from directly from Dynaspark. A little pricey but I was looking for a quality replacement.

Dallas at Vandevere Olds has the cheapest price on OEM optisparks.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but what is the difference in the early and late '94 MSD (or any brand for that matter)? How do you tell them apart?
I bought one and ordered the early since my car was #338 off the line.

Most everyone sells them for $499 except Corvette Central. There's is $519 but will match price. Jeg's was advertised at $452 before they got them in stock and went up to $499 a week later and still not in stock. Nice product.

All 94 optis were the same splined shaft driven units. 95 changed to the vented camshaft driven optis.

Not without changing the timing cover, camshaft's dowel pin, opti wire harness, and opti vacuum harness.

Then why do they advertise an early and late version MSD for the '94s? Perhaps it is the wiring harness since you remove the short original one and hook up directly to the connector under the rail cover.

The OEM that I replaced had three 1/16" holes on the bottom side (drain holes?) and also a tube about 2" long (vacuum? but nothing was hooked to it) below the #1 plug wire. ACDelco Part # 10457702 does not show the extra tube on the bottom (AC Delco Direct). My car was #338 off the assembly line and has 83,000 miles on the clock.

The new MSD has a clear air tube you hook up to the air intake before the t'body and a vacuum tube that you hook up to the intake manifold.

From what I am reading / hearing it was a late 94 mid-production change from unvented to vented and spline drive to pin drive.

All 94's have non vented optis, my car is a late model. The advertisers are misleading.

Isn't that nice of them.

I'll just buy an early one and not worry about it. I don't want to get it torn apart and not have the right parts to put it back together.

An easy check would be. The vented optis have a vacuum line that connects to the intake bellows.
