I'm new here, I just bought a '95 coupe that didn't have any key fobs and was wondering if keyless entry was standard? I assume it was being a vette and it pretty much has everything else. My '94 Z-28 did.
I don't think it has the passive key feature though. Can anyone point me what to look for? I hate to buy a fob and not need it
The 94 to 96 had passive keyless entry or PKE. If you want a warm feeling for if you have it, when you turn the key to on, in the lower left of the DIC, the PKE lamp will light for 2 seconds and go off. This will indicate that there is a PKE receiver in the car and basically operational.
You can go further and go into the programming mode just to check out if it will do it. You don’t need a fob to do this.
I just just picked up 2 key fobs on Ebay for about $65 to $75 and are new or new condition.
That is a GM part number and think it is correct. The other GM number is 10282929. Another fob number used is AB00202T which is on the fob.
