i am doing an engine swap and upgrading to long tubes while i am at it. should i bolt the headers onto the engine and drop it in, or put the headers in the engine bay then bolt them on once the engine is on the engine mounts? this is my first time doing an engine R&R on a C4, any other helpful tips? any recomendations for good header bolts?
We just got our c4 running (MELROSE LONG TUBE)and you need to drop the engine in first and then the headers you will need all the room you can get to get the engine in and most of the headers will fit in from below the car at tleast ours did. Good luck! wro87

I had to remove the starter to get that side in. After i loosely started a couple of bolts, i wiggled the starter back in. I also had to reroute the big wire bundle to the other side of fuel lines. (Hedman Elites)

I have the Hedman Elites too and since I have a mini starter I didn't have to remove it. Both headers went up into place from the bottom in a matter of minutes and I had to reroute my wiring also. The engine is coming back out soon for a refresh and I am going to see if I can put it back in with the pass. side header on because getting to the rear bolts is a pain.
