Along with the TPIS MiniRam, we will be installing TPIS headers without the emissions on the headers. What parts will I be able to bypass, or physically take off of the engine when I do this. The LT1 was easy, but the L98 has a plethora of crap on top.
The CHip is tuned already for these mods, by PCMforLess, so it is ready to go.
What other TPIS header install suggestions do you all have.
Again, Pics would be nice, Thanks, Steve
Start the header bolts and leave loose. Attach the Y pipe, then snug up the headers. Depends on the year car, but I expanded the cat converter to fit the Y pipe.
TPiS reuses the stock bolts. Yank off the EGR, but you'll have to deal with Code 32 in the chip. (i'm assuming youve got the headers that dont have the EGR hole or AIR pipes)
Then totally remove the AIR piping and install an eliminator bracket if you have it. No code will result from this on L98.

Thanks Vader. The chip has the code disabled. The eliminator bracket, where is that for?
I will go to your site.
L98s have an AIR pump thats belt driven, so far I've not found a new belt to let us get away with not using the AIR eliminator bracket. So, you can either let it sit there with the pipes removed, or put the bracket in.

Sounds like an air pump eliminator kit? Doesnt that just gut it, the kit?

You can gut the air pump inside or get the eliminator kit which is a pulley with brackets to replace the air pump and reuses the stock belt.Looks great without the air pump on there if you get the eliminator kit.
On some L98s,I know with my 86,the egr vacuum tubes connected to the air pump solenoid. You can do away with this too,or cap them off if you need some vac lines running along somewhere. You may have to rubber cap the vac line under the Throttle body if theres an open pipe hole left after you take the vac lines out, unless it uses the open pipe for another vacuum source.
If you look at the pics of my 86 on the site, you'll see the eliminator bracket, compare it to the original motor. There is also a link to a homemade bracket.
