I've been chasing this bug so long, I've finally just accepted the problem. As mine site in the garage all week it's not a big issue. The odd thing with mine is when the car sits overnight, it takes 3 to 5 seconds to start. After it's sat in the garage all week, it fires up immediately.
.....UPDATE...., the car DID NOT start up right away this morning and a restart after the car had been driven for 1/2 hour yeilded the usual
2-1/2 - 4 second cranking times.
.... however, i may be able to equate that to a possible crappy connection where the pin pierces the wire at the cvs.....

The question is............how long before "da Mail Man" goes postal over this?
Take the FP relay off and use a short jumper wire and insert one end in the first terminal and the other end in the last terminal of the fp relay connector. This will by-passes the relay and will tell you if it is bad or not. When you turn the key "on" not crank, you should hear a humm from the pump or a click after two seconds of the key being "on". Don't leave it on there, it's only a test. Replace the fp relay if you hear the noises described or fuel pressure is good when the key is "on". If you have a 4+3 tranny there is a relay for that next to the fp relay, they are the same just switch them out rather then using a jumper wire. Also make sure the wires on the connector are not touching (insulation not shrunk back) and if they are bare cover them somehow..I used liquid electric tape.
