92 Brake problems fixed!
So after doing the horizontal mombo to squeeze into the footwell and replace the booster - I determine that it's the wrong one. The pedal was about 4" closer to the floor.
So that gets removed and returned.
I then bought the metal booster that was all the rage on here. From hotrod usa or something like that. It fit right and worked long enough for the warranty to expire.
Then it failed in a strange way that made me suspect the master cylinder. The pedal was suddenly very soft - not much resistence at all. As you pressed it further toward the floor, it would get very stiff. Almost like the booster worked great for the first half of the pedal travel, then just quite working.
I took it to a brake shop and they adjusted the rod length - which pushed the pedal up, but it still felt really weird.
Well, I finally broke down and bought the right part from the General (and Fred Beans saved me $100 off the retail price
Amazing what the right parts do!
